Just Because It Isn’t Happening Here...
…doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.
This video from Save the Children isn’t exactly new and at almost 48 million views, there’s a good chance you’ve seen it already. But it’s, unfortunately, still very, very relevant: The Syrian Civil War is still a thing. If you don’t feel that donating to Save the Children’s work in Syria is the right thing for you, they also do a lot of other work around the globe. You might be worried that most of the money you donate disappears into administrative costs, but Save the Children is very open about how they spend donations. This data is provided by the organization itself, though, so whether you feel you can trust the numbers or not have to be up to your own personal discretion.
Go and watch the movie a second time, but pause on every new second. Don’t focus on the girl this time, focus on her surroundings. Mostly every second, there are clues about what’s about to happen.
Now tell me that you don’t have a few bucks to spare. Thought so: Donate.
